The purpose
Provide a place to live, ordinary food, non-clinical peer support, practical life skills and connections to employment and community services. Residents keep control of their medication and obtain clinical care from qualified outside providers.
The proposed first residence
- Up to 12 residents, subject to approval of the selected property.
- A proposed $400 monthly fee per resident for housing, ordinary food and agreed utilities.
- Individual admission and accommodation review, clear resident rights, and an independent complaint process.
- Optional paid work and training, separate from housing eligibility.
How the program will be supported
Resident fees, appropriate gifts and executed support agreements may fund operations. Potential bed support is not committed. The budget will be based on the actual lease or purchase, staffing, insurance, operating costs and reserves.
Accountability before opening
Verify formation and banking authority, establish independent oversight, complete legal and site reviews, bind insurance, fund staff coverage and reserves, and adopt the current policies. The opening register tracks the evidence needed before residents move in.
Future opportunity
A separately funded and reviewed program may later help eligible participants acquire repaired homes or vehicles. Housing does not promise an asset, financing or a delivery date.
